In Texas, a day care center has the duty to provide a safe learning environment for children. Infants and toddlers are at risk for injury if the facility is not properly maintained and / or if proper supervision is not provided by the child care providers. When there is a serious injury that takes place a day care center, most State child protective service agencies will investigate the incident to determine the cause and preventability of the incident. One such incident recently was reported involving a Kyle Texas day care center (Little Lyon Daycare). It was reported that a 10 week old child is fighting to hold onto life following a serious head injury that may have taken place at the Texas day care center. The owner of the day care center was arrested and charged with injury to a child which is a felony criminal offense. The owner will be entitled to defend herself regarding the charges through a Texas criminal defense attorney or the services of the local public defender’s office.
