In Stamford, Connecticut, it was reported that the driver of a minivan mistakenly crashed her vehicle into the day care center. Apparently, she mistook the gas / acceleration pedal for the brake at the time of the incident. Fortunately, there were no personal injuries reported from this incident. This is not an isolated event as there have been other incidents or reports of vehicles crashing into day care centers as a result of negligent driving or the negligent driver of another vehicle.

In Tennessee and other States, parents send their children to day care in hopes that the children are supervised in a safe and secure educational environment. Unfortunately, unexpected accidents and dangers happen. There have been many reported cases across the United States of vehicles crashing into day care centers. Of course, no parent ever expects this to happen; however, many day care centers are located off of busy streets and highways. As such, incidents like the one recently reported in Rockwood, Tennessee do happen. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries as a result of this crash into the Michael Dunn Day Care Center. A driver of a Ford Focus lost control of the vehicle, crossed over the median, through a parking lot, and then went into a ditch and then airborne over a fence and finally crashed into the side of the day care center. BusHome.jpgA little girl died in Kansas City, Kansas recently, after being hit by a school bus while waiting at the bus stop to be taken to her elementary school. The family has asked that the school district and the police department not release the child’s name until they have had some time to heal. They have also not released the name of the bus driver or any details of the accident. The refusal of the school district to release any information about the accident is causing frustration with parents of other school age children in the district.
