In Georgia and other States, parents, child care givers, and day care workers should be very careful about supervising children in and near kitchens and dining areas. While boiling water can be very common in cooking items, pots of boiling water can be very dangerous to children. Small children often lack safety awareness and do not understand the real dangers of scolding hot water. The Atlanta Journal Constitution recently reported that a 10 year old Gwinnett County child suffered burn injuries from a pot of hot water from a stove. The child was treated at Grady Hospital.
